Any good biz opp system should be automated—that is, it ought to do everything for you. I’ve already talked about this somewhat in Chapter 12, but it’s well worth repeating here. Too often, the promoters don’t figure out anything for you; they leave you to flounder and sink or swim as you will. You’ve got to have some idea how to sell the opportunity or product, especially if you’re new to the field. Do they offer a website to help out, or a nice marketing guide at least? How about advertising copy and other marketing materials? Is there anything there at all? Unfortunately, many biz opps don’t care how hard the system is to master, so you have to especially take the concept of "caveat emptor" to heart here.
Do that, and as you dig up the facts and the picture emerges, you may well realize that their system is more like a 10,000-piece jigsaw puzzle they’ve tossed helter-skelter on the floor—and that it’s up to you to pick those pieces up and fit them together somehow. That assumes, of course, that you even have all the pieces. Therefore, closer the system is to being fully automated, the better. Does the system eliminate the need for personal selling? Do they use Direct Response or a website, or do they force you to be on the phone all the time? As I’ve already told you elsewhere, that’s limiting; it doesn’t let you leverage any way to profit other than trading your time directly for money. If you don’t want to put together your own system, your only real choice is to find a turnkey system that does all the work automatically—that way, you can jump in from Day One and start bringing in the cash. Later, once you’ve worked out the secrets, you can experiment with venturing beyond the confines of your comfort zone. You can even investigate the possibilities of engaging in direct personal selling, if that suits you.
